4. My beautiful intelligent self-sufficient daughter bought an old IPhone

3 weeks ago. Didn't know the new one was coming and the prick at the AT&T store didn't tell her.


She should have called her old-fashioned all-knowing geek Dad.

5. I believe that if she bought it after May 27th, they will give her a 3G phone replacement.

If not, well she's still got a pretty nice gadget and OS 2.0 will improve it greatly.

Have a fun day. If it wasn't for my work, I'd own one in a heartbeat, but I use an OLD Nokia brick because it has survived drops on asphalt and floors, a drop in the toilet (yup, dried it out it worked fine) and cat nesting (don't ask).

11. I got a hell of a sun burn waiting in line for the IPhone in Hawaii..

took most of the day, and I was number 18 out of the 20 my Island delivered.. Paris Hilto was driven by and waved, I imagine she never waited in line, but we had fun...

I'm trying to figure out exactly when my contract runs out so I can make the switch..

When is the 2.0 coming out?

and AT&T will allow you to sign a new 2-year deal to get the new phone (AT&T always allows you to upgrade to a more expensive plan without breaking your contract, and the new plan is more. so natch...)

I poked around and figured that out, sometimes I get too lazy :)

Think I'll wait til I'm near expiration of my IPhone, and see if the 3G comes down a hundred bucks in the meantime.. Still have Apple credit laying around from this one, and just found out I can't buy songs or an Apple Gift card (then music) with my rebate..

Many people have been waiting for the eve of the iPhone 3G's introduction to pounce on cheap first generation iPhones on eBay and Craigslist. These people are upset. For some reason, contrary to what you'd think, first generation iPhones are going for astronomical prices. Craigslist is full of people offering up to $600 for 16GB iPhones and up to $400 for 8GB models. The arrival of the app store might be part of it, and the fact that it'll be harder to get a 3G iPhone without contract, but $600 for a 16GB iPhone is crazy. Who wants to buy my iPod touch?

15. My sister and nephew waited in line overnight for one for my nephew.

And they transferred his old number rather than get him a new one, so now there will be a cancellation fee owed to his old provider.
