Poll question: If Bush was truthful about his desire to invade Iraq, would you...
...have a lot more, a tad more, or no more respect for him and would you or would you not support his invasion.

Let’s say he came on national TeeVee and said something like:

My fellow Americans. We are running out of oil. Now, while I don’t like war any more than the next fella, I want to invade Iraq and steal its oil. Why Iraq, you ask? Well, Saddam is sitting on the second richest oil fields in the world, that’s why! I want to invade Iraq, overthrow that SOB, and have our fine oil companies go in there and pump, pump, pump that oil outta there! It will mean more gas for your SUVs and Hummers, more riches for me and my oil buddies, and we’ll be able to prolong the illusion of prosperity in our country. What say you?! Oh, never mind, who cares what you think! We invade immediately!

Would you…

1. The only question is whether
US desire for oil is worth the lives of over one million Iraqis and the only answer to that is no - it is genocide for oil. Throw away the key.

2. I do not support the premise and if we were running out of oil,
I have too much of a conscience to murder others to acquire it. For one thing, people sell their oil to others anyway.

3. Speaking about "flushed down the toilet bowl of history"
How is this for a graph of Shrub's approval rating?

8. Hey! I like this chart!
And the fact it's spinning counter-clockwise is symbolic for a man who has run counter to all things humane and life-affirming.

7. The big problem with it was they never said what the plan was after
Saddam was gone. They ALL (administration) knew the plan. And that was to occupy the country indefinitely. I don't think they would have even got 10% support in that endeavor. Instead they sold it as WMD, regime change, disarmament, al-qaeda, etc.

So I think if they came out and said, "We would like to over throw the government of Iraq, without them ever attacking us, and occupy that country indefinitely. How's that sound to everyone?". We never would have invaded the country, period. 90% of the country would not have gone along with that.

9. The "Zodiac" was honest in his intentions to kill people.
The Europeans were honest in the Scramble for Africa.

Being honest about committing crimes doesn't make them respectable.
