2. I'll be watching.
I fear that the American dream has turned into that of survival rather than achievement of certain creature comforts above survival.

3. What makes it worse is that the young people
have a sense of entitlement that we never contemplated for a day.

10. They were raised in an era of do overs and
being told they were special by everyone. Is it so surprising that kind of atmosphere might breed a sense of entitlement?

4. Thank you so much
All I know about the American dream is its slipping away from us in leaps and bounds with no end in sight until 1-20-'09. At this point in my life I can't hardly even be civil to the ones I know who are re:puke:s cause its them who have foisted these war criminals upon us and its them I for the most part hold responsible for all this.

14. Now maybe people will understand
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 09:55 PM by OkieD
why people in the "middle states" vote Repug. Edwards is from Oklahoma and this is the message that the politicians have. Also why we think they lie like rugs. The old "bait and switch" routine once they get to Washington.
But how they voted for the two idiots now.......is beyond me.

12. So hmmm, those GOPs seemed to be less than delighted with what
BushCo has done to the conservatives. I liked what one of them said about conservatives not thinking things through. That is the main problem with being a conservative isn't it? Because once you study an issue and think it through, you come over to the liberal way of thinking about it.

15. The older man reminded me of my Dad
who was an old stripe republican. The younger man bent like a pretzel at the end often contradicting himself trying to explain his positions.

16. Agree. I kind of liked old Mickey Edwards.
He has the kind of libertarian streak that feels very comfortable to a lot of Alaskans, including me. He really didn't sound like what we call a "Republican" these days, did he?

The other guy was a little too zealous on the social stuff for my tastes. He had that kind of religious fanatic thing going.
