Poll question: Health Care Coverage: Your status: |
|
I was just watching a repeat of the Bill Moyers' Journal segment with the California Nurses Association about their push for universal coverage, and a lonely impulse of delight inspired me to post this poll. :)

1. I'm very fortunate - my employer provides decent coverage... |
|
...and, up until last year, was completely paid for by them. Unfortunately, their costs quadrupled in 2 years, so they had no choice but to defer some of the cost to us. No complaints, though - it's still decent coverage that I pay $17/week for.

2. I pay $836 a month for insurance that seems OK... |
|
but if I really got sick, who knows what they would pay for. The price has escalated dramatically and what they will cover has decreased noticeably.

3. I pay $160/month to cover me and my 2 kids |

Already got my money's worth. Had my gallbladder out a few weeks ago and between the ER bill, the 2.5 days in the hospital, and the surgeon's bill it came to $18,000. My portion of the bill: $100.

Your employer could pull the plug on it tomorrow. And John McCain wants to help make that happen.

9. Good point about McCain. He wants to eliminate the tax deduction to employers for employee health |
|
insurance expenses. His plan would mean many companies would stop providing health insurance and people would instead be given a $2500 tax credit for individuals and $5000 for families to purchase their own insurance. I wonder if people with preexisting conditions would be able to get insurance at all since it would probably all be medically underwrittsn.
This is NEVER covered by the MSM, and I tell as many of the loyal Republicans I know about this. How stupid do you have to be to vote for McCain?

I have investiments that serve as an ipso facto Insurance fund.I can invest my money much better than the insurance industry can. The best part is that if I don't get sick I get to keep the profits. I never get a letter from myself stating I won't cover that expense or my rates are going up. I can go to any doctor or facility I want. I get the big deductions on the medical expenditures. It works for me.

They want over $1100/month to keep our insurance for him, me, and two kids. WOW.
We are going to pay the pro-rated amount until the end of this month - then it's medical experiments for the lot of ya!!!!
