After a long, candid and public battle with colon cancer, former White House press secretary and radio talk-show host Tony Snow died early this morning.Former White House press secretary, speechwriter and broadcaster Tony Snow dies of cancer

Snow died about 2 a.m. Eastern in Georgetown University Hospital in Washington. Snow was 53 and is survived by his wife Jill Ellen Walker and their three children. Kendall, Robbie, and Kristi.

Snow previously served as chief speechwriter for President George H.W. Bush and as a frequent host on the Fox News Channel on 'Fox News Sunday,' 'Weekend Live' and 'The O'Reilly Factor.'

He also guest-hosted for Rush Limbaugh and had his own radio talk-show.

Last September after 17 months in the White House job Snow retired as President George W. Bush's third press secretary, saying with his cancer he needed to earn more for his family than the job's $168,000 salary. He was succeeded by Dana Perino.

1. Condolences to his family.
But that is all I can think of to say that is socially acceptable.

4. or that he is being asked about all that now
as we speak. I don't believe in that pearly gate stuff - but I do believe that we all have to explain ourselves and our actions at some point when we reach our next destination - especially when our actions have harmed so many people such as his ongoing lying for this criminal administration.

a week long (24/7) weep fest like they did with Timmy Russert? This sure jacks the TV schedule all to shit.

Healing thoughts for the family.

Just when a man has his life all put together, kids through college, and he's on cruise to retirement and time for himself . . . .

Good thoughts and Hope to Tony Snow's family.

11. There's nothing anyone can say to make it better., but We can share the things that make us care
in the first place.

P.S. We're not a religious family, but we are "spiritual" and it was my kids who taught me how to live with what happened to their Dad.

8. I'm sorry for his family
but less so than for the families that his lies helped to destroy.

Perhaps they can take comfort in knowing he won't have to face tribunals.

14. What a shame. He was great, virtuous man.
A paragon of nobility and honor. A gentleman who was as near to living sainthood as we'll ever see.

How can life go on for the rest of world when such a stellar, honest, and glorious golden hearted soul has passed on? Even the little birdies seem sad today.

I propose a month of national mourning and the creation of a national holiday for Tony Snow, one the greatest human beings to ever grace the face of the planet.

If only there were more Tony Snows out there then the world be in perfect shape.

I'm so devastated I think I'll crawl into my closet, curl up in the fetal position and wail until blood flows from my tear ducts.

15. My condolences to his loved ones.
That said, I'm staying the hell away from here for the next few weeks, to avoid the inevitable "Tony Snow is still dead" threads.
