So, let me get this straight |

Bush is chiding Democrats for not allowing for more offshore drilling, but yet he refuses to open the strategic petroleum reserve?
Why do we even have a strategic petroleum reserve? Maybe it's time that Bush "use it or lose it" in regards to the government's own supply of petroleum.

Worked too.
It wouldnt need to be much, just the treat that more could be released at anytime in the future should speculation get out of hand would be a calming force on the markets.

Frankly the Democrats need to get ahead of the curve here. If they don't the Republican will correctly lay this issue at the feet of congress.
