If we lose California, if they defeat the marriage amendment, I'm afraid that the culture war is over and Christians have lost. I've never said that publicly until now -- but that's just the reality of the fact.
If the homosexuals are able to defeat the marriage amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, then the culture war is over and we've lost -- and gradually, secularism will replace Christianity as the foundation of our society.

I'm sure he's using hyperbole to make his point, but still -- I think that his statement says a lot. It would be very wonderful to defeat Prop 8 -- seeing it as a win for the LGBT community and marriage equality.

I hate to say though that if Prop 8 fails to pass, I will probably be just as happy to know that conservative Christians will consider this a Culture War movement defining loss for them.

2. I'm financially contributing to Equality California. I'm going to give them more after reading this.

I can't be there to help defeat this odious example of bigotry, but I can sure as hell open my checkbook.

I'll add to my donations if this were to happen...that the bigots would see a defeat of Propostion 8 as a crushing defeat.

My favorite was the other day when a group of these clowns calling themselves evangelicals endorsed McCain over Obama - they said it wasn't just because of gay marriage and abortion, there were indeed other issues - "like gun control and immigration" !!!!

Heaven forbid they ever acknowledge OTHER other issues like feeding the poor or health care or social justice, etc.

It will never happen, of course.
