I don't even know why we bother with elections
We don't get to decide , the super delegates do.

Why not instead just have an on-line test where you select the isues important to you and then hit a button and see how they match up to anyone running before they get their money gathered and run all over the country selling their lies . This way pehaps not one of the candidates would have made it to the primaries and they would need to offer a new selection.

We now have two candidates , one insane and the other standing in the clouds when both know damn well they are not going to change a damn thing with their promises and blather.

All this is only about who can collect the most moneyand who can sell the bigger lie.

2. Maybe we should cut out the middle men ...
...and let Corporate America select the President direct.

I'm only (half)kidding. But I'm frustrated, also.

3. The supers went with the elected delegates.
but party delegate selection is up to the party. Here in Montana the Repos appointed 300 or so people who attended a convention/caucus and they chose the Repo candidate for Montana. The Dems had a primary. Obama won, and the supers went with Obama also.

You sound as if you are upset that America isn't a direct democracy.

It used to be a constitutional republic until the Security State killed it.

4. It should be run like a lottery..........
anyone who wants to be president can buy a ticket anytime during the current administration. Then when it comes time for a new president, we just draw two tickets out and the first one gets to be president, the second gets to be vice president. Whoever holds the winning ticket wins. A new concept every four years. Come to think of it, this would be a great way to choose congress and the supreme court too.

We could do away with income taxes with the profit made off the lottery. Of course, to encourage folks to buy tickets we'd need to offer a great big salary. Something like the $666 million gush slimeball is getting.

We could let the congress go on TV and pass laws in a show called "Deal or No Deal". Laws would only pass if they picked the right briefcase. The process would probably be faster than anything we've got right now.

The supreme court could be run like "Survivor". Put twenty-one people on an island and when there are only nine left, let them pass judgment on the cases before the court. May the best person win.

Of course, this would please the M$M to no end. They would have every opportunity to bribe, coerce, condemn and crucify any one of the selected officials, just like they do now.

9. I'm almost as cynical as you are on this issue.
I can think of only one thing that makes me inclined to vote for a Democrat in presidential elections.

With a Democrat, the electorate does at least stand a *chance* of influencing government actions. Republicans actually take pride in ignoring the public when they disagree.

11.  In ways that's what it feels like .
It's now like a guessing game to see who will say what next and how the opposition will respond. And how the media will spin it. It just becomes so unreal like a video game of some sort.

There is no way to keep on top of it all without going nuts.

12. I don't watch the media... definitly not any cable TV....
They're just all talk and blabber. That's how they make money but not from me. ;)

I read, investigate on my own online and read other regular people's opinions

all over the internet. I make my own assessments the best I can. In the end

there's not much we can do about it anyway, unless you want to go canvassing

for the candidate to try and make them be the winner. I did that for Kerry.

But the delegates and super delegates in my state are going to vote Democratic.

We all know it, so I don't see the point of my "getting out there" to sway voters.

All in all though, you and I know...what will be will be. So, it's a nice day.

Put on some music and relax. Enjoy yourself. Have a little fun! It's Saturday Night! :P
