Robert Novak: Democrats Wave Goodbye to Lieberman
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Despite assurances to the contrary from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Democratic insiders are certain Sen. Joseph Lieberman next year will be kicked out of the party's caucus and lose his Senate chairmanship if he addresses the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., as planned.

Lieberman's Democratic colleagues willing to accept his support of Sen. John McCain for president consider speaking to the GOP convention as the last straw. Lieberman was re-elected from Connecticut as an independent in 2006 after losing the Democratic nomination because of his support for the Iraq war.

After his 2006 election, the Senate Democratic leadership agreed to give Lieberman the Homeland Security Committee chairmanship if he provided the decisive vote to make the Democrats a 51 to 49 Senate majority. However, with additional Democratic senators likely to be elected this year, that agreement is expected to be null and void in the new Congress.

10. Unfortunately, no!
But considering that Lieberman will be 70 in 2012 his mental stability will come into play during the campaign. As long as keep him from running as a Democrat and they have a single Democrat in the primary they should have an advantage.

Something for someone to consider... file papers to create a new political party with name such as "Idiot Party", "Senile Great American Idiot Party" and then nominate Lieberman to be their Senate candidate.

5. If there is no other reason to work for a huge Democratic senate majority
it would be fantastic to see this smug little twerp put in his fuckin place and made to STFU. His new buds in the repub party would not want anything to do with the little prick when he could no longer screw up the Dem's tiny majority.

8. Boy now there's some REAL reporting
Or maybe not. Screw Lieberman. It's actually kind of scary how close he was to being VP. Although I wish he would have been. Then. Not now.

His whiny voice makes my skin crawl. Unfortunately he's the type of dolt that actually thinks he'll remain with the 'cool crowd' after his little stint is over. Much surprised will he be when he's like by neither the dems nor the rep's.

It really makes me wonder about the makeup of the people of Conneticut. What the hell were they thinking????

(We have Norm Coleperson)
