Send text messages from iPhone without a fee.
You use AOL's AIM on your iPhone.

With the release of the iPhone 2.0 software, you can send SMS messages from your iPhone for free. The secret is a capability that already exists on your Mac: send it via iChat/AIM. (This technique works on the iPod touch, too, but I'll just use "iPhone" from here on out to avoid writing "iPhone or iPod touch" over and over.) Here's how: (See Link)

6. How are they different than IM?
If the IM is coming from your phone, isn't that simply a text msg?

of the record.

It took OSX years to come into its own, I expect the iPhone will be ass kicking as the apps are developed for it and the technology is refined.

MobileMe looks pretty good so far. iDisk is so much easier now that it is accessed from the browser. It used to be from the finder. I can see a convergence between OSX for the desktop and the iPhone OSX. They want the interface consistent between the desktop and mobile. I can see desktops going touch to the point where the mouse will be for those who can't, for some reason, work the touch screen.
