WHITE HOUSE: Refusing To Release Logs Of When Payne Took Clients To Meet Bush.
"...Over the weekend, the Times of London reported that Bush fundraiser and federal lobbyist, Stephen Payne, was caught on tape offering access to White House officials, including Dick Cheney or Condoleezza Rice, in exchange for “six-figure donations to the private library being set up to commemorate Bush’s presidency.”
Today, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino tried to downplay the long relationship between Payne and Bush, saying only that the President had “probably met on a number of occasions.” When asked if the public would be allowed access to the White House visitor logs to “show whether or not” Payne had brought clients to the White House, Perino demurred:

QUESTION: And last thing — just to clear it up, then — would the White House be willing to release any visitor logs to show whether or not he was here with clients? Because he’s out there telling people…

PERINO: I’d have to check with counsel’s office. And, obviously, we’ve been down this road before with visitor logs. And there’s lawsuits and things. So I’ll have to check with (inaudible) visitors’ log.

9. They need to cross-check WH guest logs with Payne's lobbying company
Worldwide Strategic Partners clients and see how many mirror matches are made.

6. His Lobbying was a flagrant violation of the "Logan Act"
The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed in 1799 and last amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years.

§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

His position in Homeland security gave him no power to negotiate with a foreign government.

13. Thats the BIG rub for me. That they promised the electorate a change of
' business as usual ' politics and complete oversight by BOTH houses over this runaway administration. Instead, they (most of them, but not all of them ) hopped on board the BushCo express and never looked back.

14. Misdirection is an illusionists bread & butter when they want to keep their audience focused on the
left hand while the right hand is stealing the man's wallet and tucking it in between his wife's busting boobs without a sound or peep coming from all.
