New Discovery - Why the MSM doesn't talk issues |
|
Well they "discuss" issues but not in any great depth, and generally just sit around in a circle asking each other to e...xpound at and on one another and share their feelngs.
But generally they don't really get down to the nitty gritty of things like healthcare, tax structures, US standing in the world, and so on. Why? Because Facts favor a Liberal Ideology.
If you ever needed proof that the MSM is a right wing tool you need look no further than your nearest shallow commentary show.

And that in itself tells us A LOT. You don't go to this kind of effort to keep people entertained and uninformed unless you REALLY don't want them to find something out.

3. That's what bothers me... people often say that it's just about the profits |
|
It is just about the profits... the profits of the oligarchical companies that own the media outlets.

4. Consider what "Profits" means in the world |
|
When we say profit, we mean "power." Everything in the world is for sale...IMO, the people at the top understand a vital principle, though.
We outnumber them 100 to 1. Thus, the infotainment. Distracted people can't connect the dots and see who is screwing them out of everything they own.

2. The only show I've seen so far that goes |
|
into issues with experts was the new show on CNN with Fareed Zakaria. But of course, it was the first show ever, so I'm certain that it will degrade to what the rest of CNN is about; nothing.

5. They don't cover it because of two big reasons. |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-14-08 06:05 PM by Selatius
1. Facts can threaten the position of the corporation that owns the news outlet.
2. Covering things like the environment, education, health care, etc. are considered "boring." That is, they would rather cover a story they believe would get higher ratings.
Remember that these networks are for-profit operations. They exist to enrich shareholder value. If the shareholders on the Board of Directors want sensationalistic news to boost ratings in order to boost profits, it will be done. Just look what happened to CNN after Ted Turner sold it to Time Warner.
