In Defense of Bush -- The Mind of a Freeper
Here is a diatribe posted on a forum in response to my OP that said Chimpy couldn't give a shit about the average American, and citing his feigned ignorance of gas prices as an example.

Feel free to vent... I would be happy to pass along any refutations

Freeper: "Lets ignore that unemployment is at a near historical low of 5.5%, that the economy had 40+ straight months of growth, that while the market is down now it is up over Bush's term - from a low of 7591

Look at the chart of the market average over the last 8 years. here

We have a Congress that won't approve drilling for new oil here in the US - it prefers to try and sue OPEC while espousing the mind boggling position that there is no sense decreasing our dependence on foreign oil sources because it won't have any impact for 5 or 7 or 10 years (fill in your favorte Democratic # here)

This logic is so twisted it's astounding. It's the same thought process that would say - I want to build a new house, but I wont be able to move in for a year, I cant live in it tomorrow - so whats the point.

Or a company that needs a new factory saying - we need a factory but it will take 3-5 years to build, we can't start making products tomorrow so screw it...we won't do anything.

Stupifying - as is this constant din of Bush bashing at every turn with no concern about the facts, but of course - that is standard practice on this board.

Oh and by the way - if our standing in the world is so horrible - why is it that pro-American leaders have been elected in France, Germany, Italy etc?

If your interested - here is a really interesting take on this supposed anti-americanism globally. The author is a Democratic, a college professor and a sef-admitted liberal.

Gosh - you all have a good day now, hear?

1. Refute numero uno: stock market
Clinton: approximately 11400.

Source here: http://allfinancialmatters.com/2008/02/11/looking-at-the-clinton-and-bush-presidencies-and-the-stock-market/

Today's number for S&P (under Preznit Fuckstick): 11061.

Difference between the last day of Clinton and current Fuckstick number 339 points. Nice try, moron Freeper.

3. Numero Two-o
"Lets ignore that unemployment is at a near historical low of 5.5%..."

Bush readjusted the Unemployment figures to reflect ONLY those collecting unemployment. Previously, it was both those collecting unemployment in addition to those who's benefits ran out yet were still unable to locate work. Bush simply redefined "unemployment" to force lower numbers.

7. You'd have to be from another galaxy
not to have enough ammunition and proof to refute on your own.

10. I have found some inconsistencies in your support here. Do you, or don't you, support Tony Snow?
In defense of Snow you post: I will NOT gloat over his death. He is the only right-winger that I wish had been on the other side. He was intelligent, funny, charming, a good husband and father, had no scandal attached to him that we know of, and was respected by many. So what the hell happened to turn him into a Baghdad Bob?

In deriding people who feel for Snow, you posit: "Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels brought dignity to the Nazis As the Reich Minister of Public Enlightenment. If you were a Nazi, that is. The view depends on what side of the fence you're on.

So tell me, are you having a hard time keeping your personas from getting mixed up?

8. Don't forget to tell him that the US is exporting
a record 1.6 million barrels a day in U.S. refined petroleum products.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/25518912

And then there's Montana...

"Montana's governor Brian Schweitzer tells John Crudele at the New York Post that he has the solution to the oil crisis right in his backyard: 40 billion barrels of oil--that's billion, not million--ready to drill in the state's Bakken region. And unlike the NIMBYs everywhere else in the country, the governor says, Montana citizens are eager to help the country out by building a refinery..."
