Poll question: (Poll) Question about voter fatigue.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 08:21 PM by ColbertWatcher
The GOP-controlled media has been mentioning the economy lately. No real discussions, or analysis or facts presented, just "mentioning" it.

For instance all the crap about Phil Gramm calling everyone whiners, or the "drilling" red herring while avoiding any real policies to lower gas prices.

I bring this up because on Countdown one of the guests said that people believe the economy is one of the Democrats strong points, whereas "national security" is a GOP strong point.

Everyone pretty much expects an October Surprise from the GOP. Whether it's an attack on Iran or some unknown vague threat against us on our own soil, we know it's coming and it will happen closer to the election.

Now to my poll question for today:

Will the American public be able to forget the financial problems looking them in the eye every day now in order to be manipulated by a terror scare closer to the election?

Choice 1: Yes, people will tire of hearing about high gas prices and losing their homes because there will be some small "rescue" closer to the election (and there will be the terror scare)

Choice 2: Yes, the vast majority of Americans are too stupid to remember what happened yesterday, much less who caused it. Plus, the stupid are easy to scare.

Choice 3: No, we've only seen the beginning of this GOP economic mess. Even if they "catch" or "killed" bin Laden the week before the election, people will not forget the hardships they've suffered under the GOP.

Choice 4: Other (please elaborate in reply)

3. I'm going to have to agree with you.
I hope people will remember what the GOP has done and hold them accountable by not voting for their criminal asses, but I too fear they might be too easily manipulated.

2. The crooks are robbing us blind in plain sight!
Which will contribute to the landslide come November. The 'war hero' has been thrown under the bus by his own party...they've known all along that his chances are slim and none. The crooks seek to cover their asses and consolidate their $$ gains while they still hold power. Well that's my 2 cents worth and why I chose: "Choice 3: No, we've only seen the beginning of this GOP economic mess. Even if they "caught" or "killed" bin Laden the week before the election, people will not forget the hardships they've suffered under the GOP."
