Then there are the “right wing critics” who question his insanely convoluted answer to the question “why don’t you wear a flag pin?”; that his wife said she wasn’t proud of her country until it became obvious that her husband had a good shot at the White House; that he’s had a close relationship with Bill Ayers, an unrepentant domestic terrorist. Okay, fine those were the work of “right wing critics” — and they had some legitimate concerns on those counts.

The terrorist thing is total BS, correct ? And this article distorts Ms. Obama, correct ? Hopefully the Obama campaign is addressing this stuff too.

1. First, Google Bill Ayers, find out who he is
and who he's become in the 35 years since his "terrorist" days.

Second, Google Mrs. Obama's entire statement, context and all. It's not hard to find.

That's the way you counter "right wing critics" being parroted by somebody else who is too lazy to do his/her own research.

6. Well, you've just about got step 1 down pat.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 09:29 PM by liberalmuse
That is, assuming whenever someone claiming to be from the right wing opens their mouth, that lies will spill forth. Step 2 is just a matter of finding the truth to counter all their bullshit with, which is easily found with a good search engine, which someone else has already suggested. Step 3 is being so armed with the facts that they aren't able to argue anymore so they start sulking in silence. These days I just go to Step 3 and shut the fuckers down before they can even start spilling their Fox-news-collected garbage. I did that today, when a 'pub was trying to tell me that the reason the economy is so bad right now is because of the terrorist attack back in 2001. Riiiiight.

7. Ayers is a "terrorist" in the same way that Bush is a "leader."

That is to say, he went through the motions once and managed to fail pretty spectacularly. Him and his 1960s radical group blew up a statue (twice) and then managed to get three of their own people killed by way of poor bomb-making.

These days he's an elderly teacher working at the University of Chicago.

I do grudgingly have to give them style points, though, for choosing the statue representing police casualties in the Haymarket riot. They put up a statue to commemorate 7 dead police officers, most of whom were killed by "friendly fire" rather than the small bomb that somebody threw, but they conveniently ignore the 50 or so dead or badly wounded civilians out of the crowd the police were shooting at. Fuck 'em, they were just workers, striking in support of an 8-hour work day, and deserved to be shot at. :eyes:

Oh, and Obama has a "close relationship" with him if you define "close relationship" as "they've met."

9. Two words "National" and "Review"should debunk this. Why post it here?
