I think the US economy is the process of collapsing, and they are only buying time
They are pumping "rescue" funds into the system to delay the inevitable collapse that they have caused, just to blame it on Obama and the Democrats.

The policies of the right-wing have bankrupted this country. And they know it.

But they are going to pump borrowed Chinese funds into the system in an effort to keep the ponzi scheme afloat until Obama is elected president, then they will withdraw the funding, so that it will all collapse.

And then they will blame it all on "liberal" policies.

These are robber barons we are dealing with folks!

We are facing rough economic times. It's true. It's the worst news since the Great Depression, and it could conceivably be even worse than that.

The evil people are just trying to delay the inevitable until next year, when it will all be blamed on the Democrats.

14. Aren't Democrats fully on board w/ "free trade" and deregulation?
Seems like Democrats have earned part of the blame for this meltdown.

2. Right after *'s speech yesterday, someone pumped billions into the market
it caused it to rise to positive territory briefly, then sank back down to -90. Had this cash not been pumped into the market, we would have seen a close around -200+.

So yes, I agree with you. The system is on artificial life support.

4. Oh I think it was just a bunch of speculators trying to get in and buy
the bottom. Nothing more sinister than that.

They are addicted to the large payoffs from the .com and housing bubbles and they have nowhere else to go...

5. More Like A "Reset"
In the concept of "global economy" no one currency can collapse since its so interconnected with others. A crashing dollar would take down most Asian currencies as we're their biggest customer...Europe also would fall as the Euro, while strong, needs to dollar as a counterweight...and without U.S. customers buying and selling, their value would deflate as well.

What is happening is stagflation...the first bad case of it in this country since the 70's. It's a combination of the defecits of this regime and the billions its throwing away on Iraq. The longer this war for profit stays on the books, the worse the dollar will get, the higher prices will go and the more you will pay...especially with a regime that could care less about you or the economy...they see the clock running out on their swindling and trying to rake it in as much as they can while they can.

The Chinese WON'T withdraw funding as it would all but invite turmoil in that country. Millions would lose jobs and take to the streets. Ted Koppel's series on China addressed that issue and showed how China's prosperity is directly tied to us being able to keep buying their goods...and to do that they'll continue to extend credit. They have no other customers as good as we are.

Yes, the GOOP and its corporate allies are trying to make things a mess for a possible Obama administration...and setting up the stage for the GOOP to play revisionists and obstructionists next year. Look at how they're blaming Democrats for the rise in oil prices. They'll make all sorts of noise and, once again, show what hypocrites they are. The best way to prevent them from doing much damage is to elect more and BETTER Democrats.

6. You have an economy based on smoke, mirrors and
the petrodollar recycling program. The first two have laregly been seen through but it will be the ultimate collapse of the last one which will really screw you.

8. Only lemmings would beleive that the economic problems are
cause by Democrats. The Republicans were in a majority during the Clinton years and have been in the majority for most of the Bush regimes term. They pass the economic policies that Bush signs. :dem:

11. Economic collapse could result in a completely new society.
And that could be either better or worse.

Personally, if it's going to happen I want a Democrat in charge when it does regardless of who caused it.

The advances made under FDR would not have been possible without the Great Depression. Nothing short of revolution can turn American society back around, and economic collapse is perfect soil for a revolution (non-violent, of course).
