Newsflash on m$nbc: how families get evicted from their homes,
and there are lots of them. I'm waiting to see if anyone follows up, or wonders if the family car will be their bed tonight. But no, the story didn't progress that far.

1. admission
At least they're admitting it's a problem. I suppose that's a step in the right direction.

2. Our family just found out that our formerly millionaire relative
is two weeks from eviction. One car has been repossessed and the next is likely coming. They have 3 kids, 2 still at home. This is in Orange County, CA. We are trying so hard not be be judgmental, but the last pic I saw of him was him standing at a podium having just met with Karl Rove at a fund raiser. Argh. I feel so sorry for his innocent kids and his loving mom.

3. Time For A New Roger And Me
Somehow I get a feeling the Bunny woman is doing a lot of business these days.

The corporate media ignores the plight of the homeless these days...rarely do you hear stories about homeless shelters and how filled up they are with families who have lost their homes. We've seen a big jump in those families in our area and have had to open up several new shelters...word we hear is to expect we'll need to open even more for the winter.

The price rises and worsening credit mess is going to make this a very difficult winter for millions...and don't expect this regime to do a damn thing about it.

4. I have two years left to pay off my home.
Getting evicted now would most likely send me into "Falling Down" mode.

5. All we hear, "What about the 'poor' institutions (Fan and Fre, the banks, WS) and threat to
the uber class?" interlaced with a story or two about a flipper or a person who bought "too much house". And, of course, there is the back and forth arguments "Is it a recession yet?"

The utter failure and lack of genuine discussion about the "Two Americas" paves the way for the continued erosion of the middle-class. The 'bar' that defines the middle-class or 'Main Street' is moving as we speak. As the 'bar' moves, so does the ability to claim membership in the elusive 'middle-class'.

For some Americans, its been a recession since "saint raygun".
