If yes to both questions, then I got a bunch of questions for you. Just trying to see if there is enough curiosity to justify an idea.

8. No, not a condo owner, but I'm familiar with their governance and rights.

We have a home owners association for my neighborhood, and I know the typical structure and governance of condo associations.

Wanna talk about it? They can be almost impotent or they can be fascist to the max.

19. Like the Homeowners Association
Nazis that inhabit my HOA. Not fun to deal with these officious morons who are impressed with their own self importance. Their message: you pay the mortgage, but we tell you what to do with your house, like it or not.

21. Unfortunately, that's how some HOAs end up.
There is nothing in the world more autocratic and petty than a home owners association in the hands of idiots. A few gain control and then use the HOA like it is their own personal asset. They want to decide all things for all residents.

Suing them individually, reporting their misconduct to state and local prosecutors, and exposing them in media are the best ways to deal with out of control HOA boards. A judge can issue injunctive relief and oversight, and will, in the worst of cases. The problem is the association usually has money, and that allows them to hire attorneys and fight unhappy residents.

16. Yes (townhouse) and yes
I, and my neighbors, are currently battling one of their new idiotic rules that they forced on us without a vote or meetings, which is against the covenants, and could cause them to lose non-profit status.

I will never live anywhere with a HOA - before I took tours and pics I assisted the person who sent out the HOA violation letters. I don't want asshole neighbors who have nothing better to do than to whine about how my grass is .00001 inches higher than regulation.

I will admit though, that our HOA is pretty good, for an HOA that is.

20. Ok the idea is very simple.
All I need to know how many units are in your condos, and would your HOA be interested in a low cost Internet service (7mb/700k down/up ratio) for you and your tenants? That is our little business, and if you have more than maybe 40 or 50 units in your condo building, then we can discuss the potentials. Especially if you are on the hoa board.
