Getting under the Senator's skin. GOPer storms out of meeting with me.
I had a piece published in one of the local papers last night.

http://www.mlive.com/saginawnews/opinion/index.ssf/2008/07/my_view_energy_policy_leaves_m.html
----------------------
by coincidence, also had a meeting scheduled with a local pro Big Coal State senator
to fill him in on climate vs coal.
He came in to the restaurant where we had arranged to meet,
waving a newspaper and pounding his fist on it.
"I don't like being called a fraud." he said.

I pointed out that I hadn't called him a fraud, merely his
legislation. (dinosaur, maybe, fraud, no)
I stated that I had been meeting with a number of GOP legislators
to share some information.
He said, "Well, now you've met with me."
and stormed out.

Guess I struck a nerve?

1. So the point of his coming to the restaurant was just to
make a scene and storm out on you?

That's a mature way to handle a disagreement!

2. You should have recorded it on video.
It would have made a good You Tube short.

3. Bwahahaha what a child. The first trick of a weasel is to pretend to be offended
That way no one has to actually discuss the issue.

4. Typical.
All that bluster is to obscure what they know is the truth. Document it in your journal while the incident is fresh. Then you will have it in writing if an occasion ever arises that you have to remind him or anyone else of it. I used to do this at work all the time when there were supervisors or coworkers that I felt had it in for me. My cool recollection of incidents saved my ass many times.

5. Nice way to represent you.
I find it rather amusing to keep getting under their skin. All it takes is disagreeing with them and asking them to not do what you know they are going to do anyway. In my experience they all stop meeting with you, responding to your mail and they pretend you no longer exist. My former Congressman was like that, tickled the hell out of me to annoy him (or his office).
