We Need To Take Back 9/11-And Rub It Into Their Republican Faces!
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 06:52 PM by kpete
Mike Meehan, the Orlando businessman who paid to put up a billboard displaying the burning World Trade Center next to the words “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat,” appeared on CNN’s American Morning where he argued that the attacks of 9/11 could have been prevented had a Republican been in the White House in the late 1990s.

New billboard:

9/11 happened on Bush’s watch and the watch of a Republican Congress.

...........................

We have allowed the Republicans to “own” 9/11. Wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!

We should have and should push for endless 9/11 independent investigations (even here at DU)and look at all of the facts….such as pointing out first of all that 9/11 happened under a Republican President with a Republican Congress, inspite of warning by tons of people that an attack was imminent. We should not have let them get away with using 9/11 the way they have…to start the Iraq war…to control Congress….to take away are Constitutional rights.

Making 9/11 a taboo on the Dem side is just plain stupid.

9/11 happened on the Republican’s watch with a Republican Congress!

In Spite Of Several Warnings That An Attack Was IMMINENT!

AND - it has never been investigated thoroughly!

Lying us into war happened on the Republican’s watch.

They USED 9/11 Into Scaring Us Out Of Our Constitutional Rights

....................

The Republicans noses should be rubbed it it….forever!!!!!

Stop letting them own it (without taking responsibility for it)!!!
It happened on their watch!!!

1. 9/11 happened 4 months after Bush gave the Taliban $43 million.
This kind of stuff needs to be pushed by the Obama camp, for sure.

2. But they DO own 9-11
Of course the Republicans "own" 9-11. Dick Cheney was intimately involved in both the planning and the execution of the attacks.

It might be "wrong, wrong, wrong" but it's paid big dividends for him. Imperial presidency, oil profiteering, war profiteering...

Any time you find yourself thinking this of the Bush maladministration:

It couldn't have worked out any better for them if they'd planned it themselves.

then they almost certainly did.

3. Keep pushing the point that, if Clinton had been the one responsible for 9/11
then why didn't the Repukes want to investigate the living shit out of it? Like they investigated the (bogus) trashing of the White House offices, etc. ...
