$720 MILLION Dollars Per Day.... |
|
That's what our government is spending on this War on Terror. What better things could the Federal Government spend $720,000,000 on??
How about helping the hungry and the homeless in our country? That would be a start, don't you think?
$720 Million dollars per day could provide
720 American cities with $1 million per day to help the hungry & homeless.
1440 American cities with $500,000 per day to help the hungry & homeless.
2880 American cities with $250,000 per day to help the hungry & homeless.
5760 American cities with $125,000 per day to help the hungry & homeless.
11,520 American cities with $62,500 per day to help the hungry & homeless.
23,040 American cities with $31,125 per day to help the hungry & homeless.
Imagine the inroads that could be gained. A large city could run several food banks/soup kitchens and homeless shelters with $31,000/day, possibly even some daycare centers for working single parents and healthcare clinics for adults and children.
What could YOUR town do with $31,000/day to help the needy???

1. Yes, of course you are right. But this has gone on for years, to a big "ho-hum." |
|
Say, what is Britney Spears up to? And what about those Brangelina twins?

2. There aren't even 23,040 American cities |
|
In fact, there aren't even 720 large American cities (unless you break it up into municipalities, etc.)

3. Also that's 720 million a day of working people's tax money to fight an oil man's war. |
|
We might not need so much "charity" in the form of our own war money returned to us as social services if it wasn't taken from is to begin with. We're funding our own destruction.

4. First of all you assumed the Federal Govt's role is to help people... tsk..tsk..tsk |
|
IF there were $720 mil spent on poverty, hunger or homelessness on any single day there would be a parade of Repubs being outraged at such spending on social programs when the budget is not balanced.
However, if Halliburton or Blackwater were the recipients, you would not hear a sound from them.
That is why this Government in Washington has approval ratings in the single digits.

5. Corporate welfare and welfare for the most affluent are what 'pukes are all about: |
|
it's like piss on the poor, the hungry, and the homeless, let 'em eat the cake discarded by bakeries, grocery stores, and restaurants. :D

6. Yeah, and they were too busy to read up on the French Revolution & Guillotines! |
|
There is a point beyond which the people no longer regard their government and its leaders as legitimate, but rather as criminals worthy of punishment.
