Seatbelts My Pretties! Republicans 'Scorched Earth' Plan Is Underway....
There is not a single legitimate political strategist who believes that Republicans will come close to holding their own in the upcoming Congressional Elections in November, or that John McCain will win the Presidency.

So the strategy shift is to poison the environment and create such intense pain during the coming Democratic Presidency and Democratically Controlled Congress that a Republican might stand a chance in the next election cycle.

Expect Bush and Republicons to take steps before leaving office that will benefit their friends and worsen the economy, housing foreclosures, gas prices, etc.

Ignore the hype about McCain winning the White House and focus on the disasters being orchestrated even as we post here.

1. The best way I heard it put was by (IIRC) Mark Marron
He said "they're handing the black guy a flaming bag of poop". The idea being that the bag of poop is going to explode during his administration and he'll get the blame for it, allowing them to come back in '12 and finish the job they started.

3. I considered that possibility, but in the end I think they might just steal the election anyway
because they have too much invested in staying in power somehow. (Like not getting arrested and taken to the ICC)

2. I just made a note about this thread. I can't help but suspect you're correct.
Just remember with these assholes - anytime they point at us with their index fingers and say "sore loserman," they have THREE FINGERS pointing back at THEMSELVES.

That's basically what they've tried to do since January 07 when the Dems took back control of Congress after the 06 elections. Try to stonewall and obfuscate and delay and bullshit and obstruct, so the Dems wind up not getting too much done. Then blame the Dems for not getting too much done.

But if we make sure it's known that we're onto them...

'Cause this shit always works best in the dark and under cover of silence.

4. You cannot reason with those who make up their own alleged 'facts'...
... remember, Repubs are busy creating their own realities.

5. The policies of Harding, Coolidge and Hoover brought on
the Great Depression, this is no different, and FDR was elected, for 4 terms, (not finishing out the last obviously, due to a brain anyeurism).

That still haunts the GOP, although they never take responsibility for their actions that brought about the GD, except to say Hoover was lame in his response to the crisis, (he was), but none the less, it was the buffoons before him that set the stage...and they were all "big business" types.

The GOP screws things up, then a D has to fix the mess...same thing since the turn of the century, only a hell of a lot worse these days.
