"Obama VP buzz rises around two Democrats"...Nunn would be a HUGE slap in the face.

Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., stresses a point as he speaks between forrmer senator Sam Nunn, left, and Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., during a panel discussion on national security at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

"The former Senate Armed Services Committee chairman who forced President Clinton to back down in 1993 plans to allow homosexuals to openly serve in the military...."

NUNN - NO WAY.

20. Because he supports discrimination against GLBT folk, which is highly undemocratic.
You DO support equal rights (including marriage) for GLBT people, right?

People who don't are not welcome on DU, per Skinner's own words.

3. I'm with you: no way.
No way for Nunn, no way for Hagel, no way.

I might not love some of the other names being bandied about now, but those two are simply unacceptable under any circumstances.

7. Get Bob Graham!
Pretending to consider so many democrats does get them fired up to be good surrogates, but ultimately Graham is who he needs.

9. Nothing to See Here

Just media masturbation based on an event that must have been scheduled far in advance. There is no chance that homophobic, Clarence Thomas-enabler from GA will be selected, and Bayh will mean the loss of a Senate seat that will be tough to regain. Neither one is going to be named.

14. Whereas Bayh would only be a light slap in the face.
All the DLC cred of Nunn, but without the homophobia (that I know of, anyway).
