Forty years ago, on a daily bases, I heard head counts. How many enemy were killed each day. Like we were winning or making progress in that thankless war. Sure we were.
.. Later, it turned out those numbers were not accurate. Made up, it turned out.
.. Who knows who did it? It doesn't matter.

Now, each day, we get the number of insurgents killed. Same thing.
.. Great news. The media hasn't learned a thing in forty years.
