Informal Bumper Sticker Poll |
|
---
Of course it is about as informal of a poll as you can get but...
Out here in RED County USA (North San Diego County) I have noticed a stark difference from the past 2 elections and this one. The last 2 were awash with "Bush/Cheney" and to a lesser extent "W-04" stickers.
This year the Obama stickers are everywhere and McCain stickers are few and far between. That is so strange to see in this predominately WASP/Republican part of the country.
What about your area? What have you seen?

1. In Western NC----> All Obama. |
|
Lots of Obama bumper stickers, yard signs, and occasionally a car or truck covered in big Obama signs.
More than I can count. Probably near 100 Obama stickers since he clinched.
I have seen 2 mccain.

There are very few presidential signs/stickers around here.
The few that are her are Obama, with some Ron Paul, and I have seen NO McCain, as I saw no Romney during the time he was in the race....
The stickers I am seeing most are "John Tierney", "Deval Patrick" and various mayoral or state rep stickers. People are apparently more interested locally than nationally.

And you are right! I never saw a single Romney sticker. If this fool is on their ticket, I may throw up.

17. They are ashamed but not repentant... |
|
Testimony to this is the fact that McCain can poll over 28% in any of the national polls. I think that the Republicans are merely laying low and will come out of the woodwork like cockroaches after the memory of Bush-Cheney begins to fade in the national psyche. Of course, all the disasters caused by the Republicans will still be hanging over us like a black cloud but they will have convinced the electorate that it is all the fault of Democrats, gays, immigrants and people of color.

7. I've seen very little of any political signs... I think people are really broke.. |
|
and buying a sticker or supporting campaigns financialy are just not going to happen big time in Florida.. and if Obama doesn't start popping up a little more often, he's going to lose his appeal.. the M$M is doing a great spin job on him and because of our primary fiasco; many people just don't know enough about him... but they don't want McSame.. but he's been here so man times I'd like o puke.

I don't have any pictures, but here are the stickers I have on my motorcycle (my primary mode of transport):
Democratic Underground US Army US Army National Guard Tail of the Dragon (x2) Cherohala Skyway Blue Ridge Parkway (x3) Shenandoah National Park
On other peoples' cars, you get a smattering of Bush/Cheney 04 stickers, but I don't think I've seen any McCain stickers. I have seen a few Obama stickers.

Many Obama bumper stickers (and a good number of leftover Hillary ones). In the past couple of days, I have seen two "W04" stickers. I have yet to see a single McSame sticker.

15. In Northwest Arkansas (the reddest area of the state) |
|
I've seen exactly two bumper stickers involving the current election--both were for Obama. NO bumper stickers, NO yard signs even for McCain. This includes looking around Springfield MO as well as Arkansas. What I have seen and continue to see are LARGE Ron Paul signs. If Paul goes through with his "counterconvention" in Minneapolis and endorses the Libertarians or suggests a write-in vote for himself, you'll see a lot of defections from the GOP in his direction.

18. I'm In Illinois...Do You Need To Ask? |
|
I'm in a suburban area that used to be red then purple and is now solid blue...and I have yet to see a Gramps bumper sticker. A ride on any Chicago Expressway or major street and you'll see lots of Obama stickers. The only area where they may be hiding is in DuPage County...I recently saw an endangered "W" sticker on a gas hog.
The fun stickers out here are either the Paulbots...yep, they're still around...or taking a ride into the rural areas with the "Guns Saves Lives" burma shave signs.

A lot of Obama bumper stickers, a few Ron Paul, and zero McCain. This is a very red area and it surprised me the number for Obama.
I wore my Obama Mama tshirt shopping last week and got a lot of positive comments on it.

Around the San Francisco Bay Area there are a brazillion Obama stickers. Again, 0 for McCain. Zero, zilch, zip.
Obama is ahead by 24 points in CA. :bounce:
54 electoral votes. :bounce:

I have seen three other Obama bumper stickers and no McCain bumper stickers. I'm only counting the cars of people that I know live here. We have a huge bump in population in the summer months due to tourists.
