Ok!. . I give up... WHAT "risk"?? - Why does the media insist on claiming |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-17-08 12:52 PM by annabanana
that Obama's trip abroad is some potential "risk"?.. Or that there's some "fine line" that he has to tread?
Should we worry that some idiot might not "like" a president that the World respects? One that can string three words together coherently?. . .One who will not grope a Prime Minister?.. Or talk with his mouth full?. . Or appear at a G8 photo-op with his fly open???
I'm sorry. This is a ginned-up load of crap meant to temper what is sure to be a VERY positive trip..

4. I don't think that's their motive. Everyone's going to turn in just to |
|
see what it looks like when a representative of America is greeted with cheers.

2. The Mighty Slime Machine Will Dump on Every Single Thing Obama Does |
|
That is their job: to make McCain look good and make Obama look bad. Every day they all go to work looking for new ways to do that.

I hope everyone's ready for this.

5. The only issue I can see is a lack of focus on domestic issues, particularly the economy |
|
may be costly down the stretch.

6. I'm kicking this because (1) - he's getting ready to leave and |
|
(2)- the "risk" meme is leading EVERY SINGLE STORY that talks about this trip.. which will surely (at least on the visuals) look like a triumphant entrance onto the world stage.

7. Well, if he says anything critical of Bush and co., he'll be |
|
roundly castigated by that same press.
That's about the only risk I see. He's not stupid- so unlike Bush or McCain, he's not likely to say something idiotic or ignorant.
Apparently, he's about to be greeted as a rock star in Europe. And I imagine the real thing will be even more impressive as he travels. I think it's brilliant timing - once he's back, the Olympics will be wall to wall coverage. Then it's the Dem convention. That means the political news for the next month and some will be all Obama all the time.

8. Oh, exactly. There's something even more wrong about criticizing |
|
* on foreign soil than there is to do it on American soil, and Natalie Maines found out. Or at least, according to the M$M and the right wing morans who inhabit most of it and their sense of manufactured outrage.
