So, has anyone gotten a friendly phone call from the Army
Recruiting center lately?

I received a call this morning from a very nice lady, specifically asking for me IF I was 18 years of age or older.

I am - by 32 years (and with previous military service).

I contemplated letting her give me the whole song and dance and answering the questions, just to see what would result, but she seemed like she was just trying to earn a buck, so I cut into her spiel and told her that I didn't think the Army would want me. I hope she's not working on commission . . .

She was honestly embarrassed and assured me that she would have my name removed from the call list. She didn't have an answer as to why I was on the list to start.

So I'm left wondering what subset of the population they're pulling names from now?

1. Answer. The breathing subset of the population.
They're willing to make exceptions for the oxygen impaired if you've got a doctors note.

5. I suspect you're spot-on with that assessment.
I guess I'll wait and see if the other branches call . . .

2. No calls here
But I have changed my number since I spoke with a recruiter.

Just as well- I would have to tell them that I don't work for people who change their side of the contract at will, while I can end up in jail or dead for walking off in the case of such a violation(including length of contract).

Sorry, being a cannon-fodder slave doesn't appeal.

3. They need to recruit from the list of GOP donors and Young Republicans.

4. All the branches seem to have stopped harassing my son with mail
and pleas and fake credit cards to join them and see the world!! :puke:

Of course, I dump any of that crap that arrives in the circular filing cabinet too! ;)
