This bothers me on so many levels.

MSNBC has been playing a clip of her getting all weepy while discussing the use of 'the n word' with Whoopi Goldberg.

I don't give a shit what she thinks. Or anyone else on The View, for that matter. At least not in the context of that show.

And 'the n word'.

Are we three years old?

'The n word'????

I was amazed to see that even in an AP story on this, the AP - the fucking AP, which is supposed to be a professional journalism organization - referred to it as 'the n word'.

'Racial slur' was taken?

Too much use of the term 'racial epithet'?

All in all .............

2. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a Republican hack
She doesn't care about the word, she only cares about who said it. I have never heard her say anything against Rush Limbaugh, or O'Reilly, or Hannity, despite all the despicable dreck they say.

5. What about Rev. Jackson?
What do you think of what he said? I thought it was pretty outrageous, and it doesn't matter what color his skin is.

The Reverend Jackson is a fossil. He's from another time and he has no place in this campaign.

It's time we started taking responsibility for own actions and President Obama is going lead the way, not the revered welfare check.

9. Uh huh.
Reverend welfare check? Taking responsibility for what? Who's we?

And most importantly, what place do you hate, exactly?

Oh yeah, welcome to du.

26. LOL
Typical, rather than comment on the substance of my comment you choose to attack me with lame innuendo.

Jessie Jackson is all about keeping the status quo. Where I live, (actually close by) we have hundreds of broken families that are in their 6th generation of taking government welfare. I was raised not to be like that. My parents worked hard and honestly and expect me to do the same. My parents have no respect for Jessie Jackson and I don't either. My folks also have no patience for the Reverend Al Sharpton, but I differ with them on that issue.

My point is this, the Reverend Jackson is a part of the old school democratic party. We are changing and I believe for the better. When young black men, like myself, can stop getting their girlfriends pregnant and then leaving them because they cant accept responsibility then we as a nation and a race within a nation can begin to get the respect that I feel we will deserve. The Reverend Jackson doesn't believe in personal responsibility. He believes that government needs to fix the problem with more money. Clearly, that hasn't worked.

It time for a new way of doing things.

35. I thought I was pretty straightforward, within what the rules allow.
And I didn't see any substance to your comment, just lame innuendo of your own.

For Jesse Jackson, the status quo was segregation and publicly acceptable racism, usually enforced with violence, and that with impunity. Jackson never accepted that status quo, and Obama is lucky he did not. He's also lucky to have benefitted from Jackson's work to increase funding for minority education, works training, community rebuilding and reinvestment, and all of the other tireless work Jackson, and many others, have done to empower African Americans, to fight misrepresentations and defamation of African American character and culture (something Reverend Sharpton has done, as well), and to frighten the good-ole-boy judicial and law enforcement system into at least some semblance of fairness.

Jackson has also fought to raise awareness of teen pregnancy, black on black violence, personal responsibility, and internal self-improvement, even if you've missed it. That gets ignored by the media, who prefers to paint him as a self-aggrandizing ambulance chaser, for various reasons.

A new way of doing things is good. But pretending that there wasn't a need for the old way of doing things--which was once the new way of doing things--is naive. Dangerously so.

And I'm still curious. What place is it you say you hate? DU? America? What?

8. The next time she weeps for Bush's fraudulent war in Iraq, will be her first.
It must be tough to see all your stereotypes crumble about you.

Tears is nothing you will see from Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly - who all know this is how to make money.

So to the extent that Elizabeth shows emotion, she should be encouraged. It might be a first step towards healing.

12. Jackson is a has been and hasselbeck is a never was
It's of little importance what either of them has to say. Jackson just lies to see his face on TV and faux is the only place that will accommodate him anymore. And they just do it son they can ridicule him.

As for hasselbeck she is such a piece of shit I can't imagine why anyone even gives her an opportunity to display her ignorance in front of a natural TV audience. Except it also gives her the opportunity to display two of her more visible assets. I could watch them er I mean her as long as I muted the sound.

14. That wasn't why the twit was crying... sheesh...
They give her far too much credit!

She was ranting about what to tell her little girl..
how to tell her little girl that we need to be
respectful of other people in our country,
that we shouldn't use that kind of language
(she could not understand why black people
can use the 'N' word, and she can't)
But we are a good country
where everyone is equal.. we are 'one country.'

And dear Whoopi jumped in:
"We aren't ONE country!"

"Oh yes we are!" said the idiot.

Whoopi:
"WE are NOT one country;
My mother, born and bred in the USA
was NOT allowed to vote.
We do NOT live in ONE country!"

That poor little repub girlie broke down.
She didn't like being corrected by the
scary lady.

She is a pathetic excuse for a host of a show;
I watch to hear Whoopi and Joy and Sherri
get political giggles.
But poor little Lizzie blathers on and on
stupidly, and says absolutely nothing,
and lets no one else speak.

"i don't give a shit" repeated ad nauseum and justifying an entire post

iow, methinx thou dost protest too much

fwiw, I use the term "n word"

there are two words I simply refuse to utter

the N word.

the C word. McCain can say it. I won't

That my moral choice.

And I can understand why others feel the same

27. Why all the hate?
Do you hate her because of her skin color?

Personally, I'm not a big fan of judging someone based on the criteria of their physical attributes that they had when they were born. I've seen too much of that and have had enough. If you don't like her opinion then thats fine, but why bring up the race card?

You and I and Hasselbeck cant help what color our skin is, can't we learn to look beyond that?

Here's for hope.

32. I was mad also because where was dumb Eliz during the Michael Richards fiasco?
Didn't she learn from all the earnest discussing at that time? Michael Richards' gaffe was huge and discussed at great length. We went through in-depth "who's allowed to use the epithet and why" conversations back then. Did she not listen and learn at that time? And was she AWOL during the Don Imus flaps? Didn't watch TV during her time off? Her lack of attention during those previous incidents makes her current sanctimonious weepy crap quite repulsive. Like where have you been over the past year?
