Rev. Sun Myung Moon hurt in helicopter crash
They said "his condition was not serious."

SEOUL, South Korea — A helicopter carrying the Rev. Sun Myung Moon crashed into a mountainside Saturday as it attempted an emergency landing, injuring the founder of the Unification Church and 15 others, officials said.

Moon, 88, was slightly injured in the crash, a hospital official said. Members of Moon's family, including his wife, were also hurt, and one person suffered a serious back injury, fire official Kim Wu-jong said.

4. I knew about the Washington Times, but I didn't know about
"Moon founded the Seoul-based Unification Church in the 1950s and the conservative Washington Times newspaper in 1982. His church owns hundreds of companies around the world, including the United Press International news agency."

13. Yep. Reverend Moon outbid Pat Robertson, who was also trying to buy it at the time.
Would have ended up about the same either way.

15. ? The sale was in the news especially with Thomas' immediate resignation after almost 60 yrs w UPI.
This was in 2000. With her resignation as UPI's WH correspondent, Thomas left the White House press corps after decades on the beat. She later returned with a new employer.
