Pope Wants To End "Materialism." OK let's start with the Church!
Why else do they always prop up the most horrid dictators, if not to hold on the church's wealth and real estate?

Give me a break. I was raised a Catholic but man, his promised "talk about change and the ecology" turned into addressing a "spiritual dessert?" OOOH BROTHER!

6. Makes sense to me...
I've been pondering this. If people in the U.S. become more prosperous with Obama, we need to be careful not to deplete the world's resources in the process. You know, more people would be buying more stuff and using more fuel vacationing. I hope we can maintain some kind of self control.

16. In all seriousness, I concur.
As I said, excess materialism is wrong.

And, hopefully, the spike on oil prices will have done something.

8. A spiritual "dessert" in the "desert" perhaps?
With all the pomp and circumstance the Catholic church promotes, this is a joke, right?
