Has anyone else noticed the tight head shots on CNN lately?

I have been noticing an apparently new thing that CNN is doing with it's camera work and I'm wondering if it's just me. Lately, it seems as if the cameras at CNN are zooming in on EXTREMELY TIGHT head shots of anchor whores and guests.

Has anyone else noticed this and, if so, why do you suppose they're doing it?

PS: I was just watching GPS with Fareed Zacharia and they were so tight on his head that his head was nearly in my face though the teevee is across the room.
