Dress Code Fatwah!
The GOP-controlled media has found their "issue" about Obama's trip.

Amazing.

8. They will have to scrape my nail gloss from my cold, dead fingernails.
There are a lot of women who are just crazy about a guy with a good manicure.

6. Maybe they'd rather be arrested, as can happen if they aren't dressed
appropriately in that particularly country?

It's not about rights when you go in to places like Afghanistan - it's about protection and safety. Not just for the person that wants to dress outside of the confines - but to the people they're traveling with.

9. This place has become notorious for that.

People post something off the top of their head, almost as if it were halfway into a sentence.

DU has become nearly unreadable. Usually you can avoid the forums with the problem, but it's pervasive now.

19. When I worked in the Middle East we had the same 'guidelines'.
No big deal.

12. I'm sorry.
Apparently, one of the reporters on the TV said Obama has a "dress code" while on this world tour.

And the panel were shocked, SHOCKED! that someone would impose such constraints, and then they showed the list, which included women must wear stockings, but no nail polish.

It was really stupid to include on the news.

14. Yes.
That was my sense immediately after hearing it.

They've already outlined the scene, and anxiously awaited the opportunity to say they were right, regardless of whether they were or not.

Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy.

15. No thong undies visible, etc. Maybe the press needs those guidelines.
Americans are horrendously blase about violating local codes of acceptable behavior. And the newsmodels from FAUX need special tutoring on how much cleavage is considered permissible by their Muslim hosts. You're a guest over there, Cookie; try not to embarass your country.

16. FOX Newsbunnies are exempt from the laws of their host country...
...because they say they are.

Also, they belong to no country, they wear no uniform (literally) and as a consequence, have no allegiances to any nation, except that of their corporation, should it see fit to become one.

18. Surprisingly, the person I heard ranting the hardest about this was David Schuster.
On RTTWH, he said something to the effect that McCain has a great relationship with the press, but Obama's is kind of shakey. Obama's going to learn soon that the press does not like being told what to do. (Unless, of course, it's by Republicans)
