Small generic spoilers for "The Ruins"

I suggest you rent "The Ruins", I'm watching it now and it's actually a cool little morality tale about things like: The "arrogant American abroad", the futility of trusting help will come from authority figures (IE Katrina), and a touch of man vs. nature too. Don't eat red foods while watching.

1. Addendum: Unless you like your horror films really, really, graphic
You might want to pass on the unrated version.

2. I didn't really care for the novel.
The movie's quick release to DVD didn't inspire me.

Since they can't seem to find a copy of "The Mist" to send me.

3. Your Assessment is Right.
It actually did have those little messages. Yes, you want no red food while watching this movie. Not too sure about any houseplants either!

5. actually I didn't get that impression at all
The german and greek tourists were just as clueless, etc.

Frankly, I generally detest non-political movies (horror, action, whatever) that try to insert the director/writers ideology. It's almost always ham-fisted and detracts imo. Even George Romero has gone a bit over the top recently imo in this regard, and he's somewhat famous for this.

The ruins was pretty good.

It's kind of a continuation of the eli roth school, but still good.
