They once told us that George W. Bush was the greatest President in the history of this nation. When the Dixie Chicks dared to make even a mild criticism of him they were considered to be traitors, their CDs were crushed, they were pulled off the airwaves, and they were fed to the dogs. But the Dixie Chicks were not the only ones that were attacked, all across America people were being labeled as unpatriotic if they made even the slightest criticism of George Bush's policies.
But then something happened. People started to see the dead bodies coming home from Iraq, people started to see their neighbors lose their homes, people started to see the prices at the gas pumps skyrocket, people started to see their environment being destroyed, and people who had never spoken before started to speak out.
Before long George W. Bush became one of the most unpopular people in this nation, and all of a sudden the Republican politicians who followed him so loyally started to tell us that they were different than George Bush. They wanted us to forget about all those photo-ops they had with him at their fund-raisers, they wanted to forget about the fact that they voted with him nearly 100% of the time, they wanted us to forget that they once questioned the patriotism of all those who dared to criticize their hero.
When Bush became unpopular we were supposed to forget that the Republican Party marched in lockstep with the Bush agenda from the very beginning, and we were suddenly supposed to pretend that each individual Republican was a unique voice on Capital Hill.
But they were not unique voices, they were people who continued to vote with Bush on all of the important issues hoping that we would not notice that they were still marching in lockstep. Every Republican in Congress is George Bush, and they have been George Bush since the beginning of his first illegitimate term.
There is no John McCain, there is no Mitch McConnell, there is no Norm Coleman, there is no Michele Bachmann, there is no James Inhofe, there is no Joe Lieberman, every single Republican in Congress goes by the name of George W. Bush. They all vote exactly like Bush wants them to vote, which makes them all the clones of George Bush. They have pushed the Bush agenda on us, and they told us they were proud of that agenda so let's have them carry that pride with them wherever they go.
When you speak to your friends and neighbors about John McCain or any Republican Congressional candidate feel free to use their names interchangeably with George Bush's. They have all been united behind Bush's agenda, let's make sure the voters know that they are going to get his agenda.
