Tweety says top choice for McCain VP is Tom Ridge--would he deliver PA to McPain? |
|
I think Ridge would worry me the most.

7. It might deliver PA, but it would lose him the election. |
|
With McCain being as old as he is, the fundies aren't going to turn out for a VP that is Pro-Choice.
They might as well be electing a Pro-Choice candidate.

8. Don't underestimate Rendell's influence on the State; |
|
The man knows his politics and I doubt that he will give the State up too easily.

9. I think Ridge might be a really smart choice for McCain - but |
|
I think the question with that is whether McCain is so busy shoring up what ought to be his "base" that he cannot afford a pro-choice guy from PA on the ticket. I'm not sure tactically he's going to be able to move to the center a slight bit with someone like Ridge...

12. Maybe Tweety just wants to talk about his home state, Pennsylvania. |
|
If I were in his shoes, I'm sure I'd find a way to talk up my home state, Michigan.
Ridge vs. Rendell would be a fight of epic proportions, IMHO, and very entertaining. I lived in the Alabama part of PA for awhile, and they won't give up the fight.
But right now, I'd put my money on Rendell.
I still think he'll either shore up the base (Huckabee) or go for someone who knows something about economics (Romney, maybe Crist).

I'm rooting for Biden, myself. But Rendell is good, too.

14. I'd go for either of them, too. |
|
Biden was my second choice after Edwards. He has lots of experience in international affairs and knows Washington well. I thought that he wouldn't get us into any trouble and would start to turn the aircraft carrier that's the United States in the right direction again. With a country this big, and a government that big, change isn't going to happen overnight, IMHO. He'd be a great addition to the ticket.
I lived in PA for several years until 2006. Rendell would not have been a problem for me, but I didn't know that he had taken himself out of the running.

15. This was a while back - right after Obama secured the presumptive |
|
nomination.
On the Today Show, I think. You know, they were asking everyone who came on about VP. Rendell said he's out. Richardson (on the same show) was far more coy!

10. Tweety Sure Loves Him Them PA GOOPers |
|
Didn't Ridge attempt to run for President at one time and no one noticed? I could just see the duct tape bumper stickers now. The guy has the charisma of soapdish...but Tweety like him, so that's all that matters.
I was laughing at Tweety's so-called "Power Ratings"...and whose ratings are these and based on what power? Methinks its the ability to moisten Tweety's loins. Next up, Tweety loves him some Rudeeeee.

16. I'm from PA and I don't know that "Rocky" Ridge is all that popular |
|
at least he is no more popular IMHO than Rendell. When he left to head Homeland Security we didn't even seem to miss him and the Lt. Governor who took over when Ridge left, Gov. Schweiker stepped up big time during the Quecreek mine accident & rescue.
