Fewer than half of Americans polled by Pew believe humans are causing global warming

Fewer than half of Americans polled by the Pew Research Center believe humans are causing global warming, and a declining number even believe the Earth is experiencing a warming trend.

The survey, conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, finds "roughly half, or 47 percent, of Americans say the Earth is warming because of human activity, such as the burning of fossil fuels."

Nearly as many, 45 percent of respondents, contend the higher Earth temperatures are due to "natural environment patterns," that no global warming exists, or that causes cannot be scientifically determined. snip

Only 27 percent of Republicans surveyed believe humans are causing global warming. By contrast, 58 percent of Democrats blame global warming on humans.

Perhaps it's a successful disinformation campaign.....Or perhaps too many Americans are dumb as a box of rocks. :dunce:
And I say Americans because this doesn't seem to be the case in Canada or Europe or anywhere else.

3. IMO - we are contributing to climate change - can't possibly be the sole source though.
The wording of the poll is an all or nothing proposition. Even if you think that we are contributing to climate change, you probably don't believe that we are the sole cause.

4. Frank Luntz
the republican political strategist, is at the root of the "global warming isn't happening" misinformation campaign.

Some big powerful corporate entity paid him to do this, like, back in the early 90's or something?

What a wonderful legacy to pass on to future generations, Frank!

7. Because we're an arrogant, stupid, fucking species
Who can't accept the fact we may be causing our own extinction if we don't change immediately. I personally have little hope we will.
