Apparently Obama is about to face an angry horde of reporters.
From what I heard on MSNBC and CNN, his press conference this morning is an opportunity for the wonderful members of the traveling press corps (including my personal fave Andrea Mitchell) to corner him like a wild animal and pummel him with questions about the surge. Their goal is to get him to trip up, to somehow put a blemish on what is so far a very successful trip.

Apparently there's a lot of pressure to do this because the majority of the American people believe the "liberal" media are giving him a free ride while McCain struggles to get any press at all(!).

It's the perfect excuse to take on the persona of pit bulls and attack. On the other hand, it's the perfect opportunity for Obama to stand tough and take what they dish.

I can't wait for it actually; bring it on MSM.

1. Not much different an experience than being called on in law school.
Actually this situation would be preferable to that.

4. Haha, I am having a flashback right now.
Getting called on in law school can be stomach turning, especially when the questioner is some pompous ass pretending to be Prof. Kingsfield.

2. About five minutes after he's sworn into office
Every republican will start complaining about the war and start saying that he needs to bring the troops home now.

6. But the war criminal in the Oval Office is still safe
Bad news, Mrs. Greenspan. Getting "pummeled" by this group is about as fearsome as being gummed by a newt, as Molly Ivins might have said (and in fact, did say). I don't have too much worry for Obama; he's a lot smarter than the intellectual lilliputians who will be plying the questions.

7. The GOP complained to the refs, so the media will heed them and start turning nasty.
I've seen this movie before, right before the TX and OH primaries.

They still control what you get to see out of all this. If he handles it well, will we ever know?

The Mighty Slime Machine is just getting started. That is what we are really running against.
