Economic Stimulus, my ASS! |
|
So, I have to get this off my chest...
The Economic Stimulus checks for millions was then "re-routed" back to the feds or the state for other things, I.e. student loans, welfare payback, etc...
That's like someone reaching in their right pocket for a $20 to give to a guy who is down on his luck. He 'almost' hands the guy the $20, then says..."But wait, my cousin loaned you a quarter 10 years ago." and shoves the $20 back in the other pocket.
So who is getting Stimulated???
If I make a low enough amount to be needing an Earned Income Credit for the last 10 years, and have a defaulted student loan as a result...doesn't that mean I ned the money MORE than the guy making $30-50K who is single and in credit card debt up to his eyeballs?
It's just not right. But then, I guess I don't need their money...I'll get creative and figure out a way to make my own. (Anybody wanna buy some drugs? how about a TV? I could sell my children)
I am so sick of this shit

2. I got two letters: one to tell me the check was coming, the second to say no check was coming |
|
I was under-stimulated and under whelmed to say the least.

4. I was counting on the money to help pay down stuff.. |
|
Not rerouted to the IRS for our back taxes. I would have kept paying $75/month.
Fuck IRS.

5. Ya, it's a big illusion... |
|
but I, too, was hoping for some help so I could by my kids shoes, and myself some clothes that don't have holes..you know, stuff that doesn't come from the goodwill for a change.
Ya, I was looking forward to going shoping...so they didn't get that money back into the "economy"... but they got a drop in the bucket of my student loan! good for them!

6. Republican plans always tend to give money to those least in need of it. |
|
Poor people spend any money they get. It's a matter of survival. So, giving money to poor people is a true economic stimulus. Giving money to people who already have enough, is not an economic stimulus. But, our "news' media seemd to have missed this.

8. The guy making that $30-50K with credit card debt |
|
has quite likely used his credit card to feed and clothe his kids these days, or pay for medical or dental care. That might look like a princely salary to somebody who qualifies for the EITC, but it's certainly not enough to raise children on, especially if there is no dental insurance.
Yes, some people are fools who charged up ridiculous shit they should never have bought and which they have no hope of paying for, but 50% of people who are bankrupted by credit card debt had to use those cards for medical debt.
There is plenty of pain in this economy to go around because everybody in the bottom 95% has been shafted again and again since liberals went out of power in 1969.
Now they want to divide us again, making us think that because somebody else's pittance is a little bigger than ours is that they are somehow less deserving of compassion when they run into trouble in this economy.
This is the end game of an evil system that the robber barons and would be aristocrats always foist on us when we have forgotten who and what they are and enough of us fall for high minded but empty rhetoric as they buy up enough elected officials to put their plans forward.
The last thing we need to do is look down on each other for any reason. We aren't the problem. They are.
