right down to having only one flag behind him instead of cramming in as many as possible like so many other politicians do.

The republican's started it trying to prove they are better American's because they have more flags. This from the same people that whine about misuse of the flag.

a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. (Actually all flags should be flown upside down until the present administration is retired - I've seen right wingers physically attack someone over this issue)

g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. (Bush was signing flags at one point in his campaign, I was able to use a picture of the idiot doing this to shut up one of our regular harassers when we were protesting the invasion and occupation of Iraq)

d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. and (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. (Both sides are guilty of this one but the right wing purists never seems to have a problem with blowing their noses in a flag adorned napkin)
