Repukes in Senate 'for sale' to the oil companies on CSpan
Yesterday, I spent a few hours watching the Senate try to deal with the high price of gas, and the Dems bringing up a bill to control the speculation. The Democratic Senators brought out all these charts and graphs showing how and why they plan to deal with this crisis. And the Repub senators responding by ignoring the purpose of the bill dealing with speculation, but using their time to plead their 'drill, drill, drill' case for the oil companies. If ever there was a time to see who owned the Republicans, this was it. All the logic was on the Democratic side, and the Repukes looked like a bunch of crooks trying for that last drop of blood to satisfy their masters. There was a few cracks where the Repub senators face stiff competition for re-election. Olympia Snowe from Maine almost sounded like a Democrat when her turn came, and will vote for any of their legislation at this point. Don't know if the votes will be there to get something done on this, but I wish it was more publicized. They used to put people up for the firing squad for protecting theft in time of war, but I guess we have no pride anymore.

1. But The Check Is In The Mail
Keep in mind the other day the RSCC all but told their members they're on their own. There's little money to help in holding seats yet winning new ones (that's all but written off) and it's all self-preservation time. Even Pruneface McConnell said he "won't hold members" to party line votes on spending bills (he'll only crack the whip if they dare to cross the boooshies) and hope they can fool voters.

Right now, these corrupt asshats need the oil money...make up for the millions that aren't being donated by party members.

BTW...the oil companies have always owned the GOOP. Just look up Tea Pot Dome.

3. And This Is What We See...
In many ways not a bad thing...there is now tons of video for Democratic Senate campaigns to put out to voters that will hang these goons by their own oily words. They haven't gotten the message yet...but they will. Yep it was disgusting...but it also fits into a great question I love to ask of repugnicans and "conservatives"...and that is who do you trust to look after the your welfare? A corporation whose "fiduciary responsibility" is always to the stockholder first? For years the GOOP was able to slide on their lies about being "fiscally responsible"...now all that's left is their own self-serving greed.

Cheers...
