It's fascism, people
What Mussolini did economically, what Hitler did economically, what Bush did economically,-what all three leaders did economically is indistinguishable: privatization of the public sector, public subsidization of the private sector, slashing of taxes on the wealthy and corporations, aggressive acts of militarism to establish a permanent war economy. DO NOT try to deny that Bush’s economic actions are indeed identical to those of the other two most notorious fascists ever known.

And drop the claim that fascism is good for the masses because “a rising tide lifts all boats.” The power elite sucks the ocean dry and keeps it all for themselves, only letting a dribble “trickle down” to the people, just enough to keep them alive and useful as drones.

Give up on that absurd claim that the wealthy earned their money through hard work, as though people doing stoop labor in hundred degree heat from dawn til dark for agricultural wages are lazy. No CEO would last two hours in the fields.

Stop trying to make out that complaining about, or even naming, fascism is the province of whining conspiracy nuts, and should be ignored by hip, savvy people.

And, come on,-our two parties are NOT the same. One party wants to destroy Social Security, for example, while the other wants to preserve it. There’s a difference.

There’s been too much fairy tale telling about economics. We need truth-telling.

3. And we're all just comfortable, ignorant, and afraid enough for it to continue.
It's just like it always was, and apparently always will be.

I totally agree with you, even if I don't have knowledge of economic histories.

Now if we can just people like my relatives to actually see that this is the case, then we'll be getting somewhere. But that isn't going to happen. At least with my aunt and cousin, whom I've been incontact with recently, and working on. Nope. Golf at Donald Trump's course every day. View of Hollywood in the hills. Blind idiots who drank the coolaid.

4. The Reps of both parties are bought and paid for by the same Corps. And the
laws that seal the deal for the fascist power seemed to keep getting passed with out so much of a peep being brought up by those that are exposed to be protecting the Constitution and the country.

Kinda brings a tear to my eye.

my lists were not comprehensive- just off the top of my head. And my point about your generalization of all elected Congressional dems, stands. You made a silly generalization. I pointed that out.

23. Anyone of those good dems could start a fulibuster on some of the shit that goes through the house
but no we can't do that it would be fruitless. Well no they can't do it because their controllers won't let them. Besides Kucinich where are the rest of these peoples back bone when it comes to impeaching the criminals in the white house. They're just Enablers.

6. You should talk to the DLC about what they want to do with Social Security.
The Democratic Party is schizophrenic at best. The more liberal half wants to preserve it, but the more conservative half has other ideas on it.

privatization of the public sector

Right. This never existed before Bush.

public subsidization of the private sector

Which happens in just about every country in the world, including all Western democracies, and once again existed before Bush. Public subsidies are not inherently fascist.

slashing of taxes on the wealthy and corporations

Which is indeed lame, but hardly fascism. Mussolini's government did cut taxes on foreign investment capital, luxuries, etc, but the cornerstone of his tax policy was actually the use of taxation as an incentive for child bearing. There were tax incentives for having children, and penalties for being single. Not that this mattered very much, as Italians during that time were very adept at avoiding taxation by the government.

DO NOT try to deny that Bush’s economic actions are indeed identical to those of the other two most notorious fascists ever known.

This is patent nonsense. First of all, fascism is not an economic system. There is no such thing as an agreed upon "fascist economic policy" as viewed by historians. Mussolini in particular was not very knowledgable about or interested in economic issues, and the economic policies of his regime were all over the place, primarily driven by a desire for political control rather than economic ideology. Mussolini both privatized and nationalized companies, and in most cases it was simply a matter of finding the most effective way of controlling a particular industry or company, and the best way of indoctrinating the employees into fascism. It was not a matter of economics.

I'm sure you know the old adage about Mussolini making the trains run on time. The problem with your position is that it implies that making the trains run on time is inherently fascist, which it isn't.

14. Making war on an innocent people for their oil is NAZI.
Destroying the Constitution of the United States to empower and enrich the few is NAZI.

Ignoring the pleas of a drowning city is NAZI.

Imprisoning a political opponent on phony charges is NAZI.

Bush and his cronies have done these and a whole lot more actions that are pure NAZI.

PS: A hearty welcome to DU, mqbush!

16. CEOs make the kind of money they do, because they sit on each others'
boards and, therefore, vote on each others' compensation packages. "Corporate incest" is epidemic and is the reason why CEOs of failing companies still get raises.

But I never care for the use of the term "troll" here, because 99% of the time, it's simply someone with a different opinion than the person using the term about another. One person's troll is another person's favorite poster.

At first, I read it one way. Then, I read it another way. Then I decided maybe I shouldn't assume anything. And I'm glad I took that route in the end.

As for your comment, yeah, those are the ones that annoy me, too. I think those kind of posters, who are always contrarian, are juvenile, and implies an emotional state of one who never developed beyond adolescence.

and is, AFAIK, acceptable as long as individual posters are not singled out.
