So much garbage on the bottom of the TV screen you can no longer see the news feed!! |
|
Am I the only one that finds this offensive. It's getting so that you can't see the pictures being shown and it's not just the news, now when I'm watching a regular program, they place all those stupid ads for their other shows on the bottom of the screen.
I was watching a subtitled movie the other night and couldn't read the subtitles because of all the sh_t on the bottom on the screen.
Pretty soon there will just be a little picture in the top right hand corner and the rest of the screen will be advertising!!

3. Not just annoying, as I said, in the case of subtitles, I could not even read them because their |
|
stupid ads for their shows were covering them. Makes me want to scream!!

11. I saw the same thing recently. |
|
It's very distracting & annoying.
More & more, we wait to a show after the entire season is on DVD. Between the paid commercials & the pop-up commercials for the network's other shows, it's just a better experience to watch on DVD. I love my Blockbuster online account!

2. TDS did a parody of this once |
|
They showed the classic broadcast of Walter Cronkite announcing JFK's death--while sports scores were on one side of him, stock tickers underneath, other "breaking news" flashing above, etc. etc.
Then they had an image of what TV news viewers will evolve into--showed a creature with about 40 eyes on its head.

5. A lot of them are this type: "Is Obama Too Liberal?" "Is Obama Falling in the Polls?" |
|
and the rest of the crap like "Too Much Publicity for Obama?"

And the zip ads during regular shows are so large you can't even see the picture.

9. Guess I just have to start watching movies on the computer. They are cutting their own throats just |
|
like they've done with their news. I am so disgusted I will look for other media.

10. The advertising during shows |
|
Is partially a reaction to the Tivo crowd. As people are skipping commercials the only way for networks to promote their new shows is to put teasers up on the screen during the other show that you watch. Pretty soon they will include regular adds(for coke or budwieser) also.

13. I'm a TIVO-er, and what works for me . . . |
|
is when my favorite program offers a "stay tuned during the break for a behind-the-scenes interview with XX", and they offer up a 20-second bite of something - promoing an upcoming special of the series or some fun tidbit or another. I do stay tuned for those. But that overlay stuff has got to stop.

Stuff crawling across the bottom, titles just above that, logos on either side, and finally the actual picture - and when they show video of something, you can't even see half of it. Ugh.

16. On election nights, they have text, pie graphs, bar graphs, and tables on the margins ... |
|
... all at the same time.
The screen looks like it just had a dispute with some of the edgier employees of TSA at an airport.

15. I watch MSNBC at the gym (mainly to piss off the Faux viewers there) ....... |
|
..... and when you add in the closed cationing, you can't see a lot of the screen.
Then, when they show clips from other sources, you have one station's marquee crawl over another station's marquee crawl .....
