Bush has become the perfect anti-FDR. FDR started by ending the Depression and ended with |

the ''Good War.''
Bush started with the ''Bad War'' and is ending by starting a depression.
He deserves to replace Reagan as the icon of the conservatives.

3. Um.. not to get in the way of a good story, but FDR didn't "start" with nor end the depression. |

This has nothing to do with bashing FDR. FDR was a revolutionary president and some of our best, most progressive programs came out of his tenure as president.
But the depression was hard to fix, his first major attempt largely failed to stem the tide, causing a second wave of legislation in 1935.
The real end to the great depression, unfortunately, was war - and wartime manufacturing and the war economy.
