I love Doyle's final statement about "If Savage wants to find someone acting like a moron he should simply look into the mirror"

BTW, I had a hoot that this guy represents Penns Hills - which is supposively where Rick Santorum lives.

1. K & R

That was great; thanks. I'm from the Philly area but don't know too much about Doyle. However, this certainly earned him some respect!

2. He represents more than Penn Hills
Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 01:30 AM by RamboLiberal
The City of Pittsburgh is the largest municipality in the 14th Congressional District. It contains more than half of the district’s population of 530,000 people.

The district also includes the communities of Avalon, Baldwin, Bellevue, Blawnox, Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfant, Coraopolis, Clairton, Crafton, Dravosburg, Duquesne, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Elizabeth, Etna, Forest Hills, Glassport, Homestead, Ingram, Kennedy, Liberty, Lincoln, McKees Rocks, Millvale, McKeesport, Monroeville, Mount Oliver, Munhall, Neville, North Braddock, North Versailles, O’Hara, Pitcairn, Penn Hills, Port Vue, Rankin, Reserve, Robinson, Sharpsburg, Stowe, Swissvale, Turtle Creek, Verona, Versailles, Wall, West Homestead, West Mifflin, Whitaker, Wilkins, Wilkinsburg, and Wilmerding.

Much of what he represents are the struggling steel towns of SW PA. He's my congressperson and he's a decent one IMHO. When Santorum was in the House he represented the 18th district. Doyle is the 14th district. I'm not sure if Santorum's PA house is in his district or if it ended up there as part of the gerrymandering that was done in 2003 since Doyle's district was the 18th and was moved to the 14th.

And cheers to him for ripping Savage a new one.

4. The Weiner is among the most despicable on the right.

I do hope that hate radio has reached some sort of peak and will decline soon. It's polluting the country and holding us back from greatness.

We must look so idiotic to the sophisticates in Europe! Like we all live in mountain shacks and smoke corncob pipes or something. Nation of whiners? Try nation of rubes.

5. I have been hearing more European's calling the Liberal Radio shows lately - you are right on!
I would really like to know if there are European or British radio personalities like Rush or Shawn or Savage. Anyone know? Can there possible be more human windbags like these somewhere else in the world who can say anything they want and hide behind the Constitution in doing it?

7. Keep In Mind The Actual Numbers
I wouldn't worry about hate radio peaking. The overall listenership is far lower than most suspect.

Given the concentration of these shows on the same radio stations, the same few million are listening to all the shows. It's only about 1% of the population. Remember that the ratings reported are weekly AGGREGATES. So, it's the number they report divided by 5 that actual listens.

Whether it's peaked or not, they are essentially irrelevant as they don't represent mainstream America.

8. I suspect half of Weiner's audience are liberals listening to see what crap he'll spew next

Thank goodness for websites like Media Matters where I can hear just what I need to hear. And it's clear from the outrage from so many Autism groups that Weiner's comment was NOT taken out of context.

9. There's Certainly Some Of That, Too
Like you, i'm not one of them either. I know what they're going to say, and i don't need to hear it. I have a friend who tolerates it, so i can find out from him what the undereducated luddites are saying.
