Moron Media attacking Obama's strength - eloquence
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/feedarticle/7672777

By CALVIN WOODWARD and ANN SANNER

Associated Press Writers

WASHINGTON (AP) - If the presidential election were decided by speeches alone, it would be over already.

Barack Obama soars, John McCain struggles. Obama beams, McCain grins at the wrong time.

Obama looks off into a heavenly distance and then right at YOU.

McCain pivots his head in three positions - left, center, right, center, left, center, right. He may be speaking to ``my friends'' but he is looking, quite obviously, at a projected script.

So now it's a sign of honesty to talk like an idiot?

The press is so biased it is not funny. Anyone thinking that Gramps' "strength" his alleged "war hero" status should not be attacked is fooling themselves.

Sometimes I think they are just jealous. Those who can, do, those who can't just become journalists and do nothing but talk about those who do (excepting any present company, of course).

2. And since I'm in Middle America - Maybe you can explain what that is?
Because he looked like an idiot to me, and was made fun of on the news.

3. What news media was that?
I'd love it. My local paper ran that article above with a headline to the effect that McCain's lack of eloquence show his "honesty" and that Obama's eloquence means we should "distrust him!"

6. If there are idiots out there who still believe that it's better to have a president you
can have a beer with than one who can speak English, shame on them. Hopefully there are more voters who find Obama's intelligence appealing rather than a turn-off.

7. One Thing About That Concept That Always Bugged Me
Idiots thought that Silverspoon was someone you could have a beer with. Notwithstanding his alcoholism, did any of those dolts ever believe that a rich, privileged, self-entitled guy like Bush would stoop to having a beer with likes of a commoner? I seriously doubt he ever would.

8. Oh, he would do it in a heartbeat.
But, right afterward, he'd be off with his nicknamed frat pack, ridiculing everyone at the bar behind their back.

He's that kinda guy.

I think the image is completely fake. I don't think he'd ever deign to deal with a "regular" person. He thinks he's royalty.

13. But we've seen him do this.
Think of all the video of him at picnics and BBQs and all that folderal. It was the glad-handing, good-ol-boy schtick that got him elected. He sucks at everything else. But what people don't know is that behind their back, he's making fun of all of them. I think you're right that only in his inner circle (read: Skull and Bones), is he as close to genuine as he can be. Probably loses the Texas BS accent. Switches from beer to 30 yr Scotch. Pulls out the Habaneros. Tells black jokes. I think that's the kind of guy he is.

Now, Mother, is a different story.

14. That Was After The Fact
And as an official function. As a human being, he'd never sit down and have a beer with you or me. We're just commoners.

And, you're right; make that in spades for Babs.

15. Well, that's true.
Wonder how many BBQs we'll see him at after January? Hmmm . . .

I doubt Babs has ever tasted BBQ. (Now blasted with horrible image of Babs' wrinkly foul mouth smeared with BBQ sauce, licking her chops.)

I have to throw up now.

10. Which is why they scripted him with "folksy lingo" and "down home" attitudes. To create the illusion
of a regular joe.

I always knew it was completely fake. Even though i assume half the people are stupid, i didn't want to believe they were THAT stupid.

It is amazing to see people putting someone down for their achievements! Well, it's sick, really.

21. Actually, it's not surprising.
Because we're so obsessed with success, people who are not successful get quite of those who are. And the GOP and their whore media play to that jealousy.

Worse than just negative campaigning. It's some sick undercurrent going on there - jealousy or the like.

23. So eloquence is elitist; diplomacy is weakness; intelligence is unlikeable...
So, is * going to go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has the oratorical skills of a piss-ant, and is super-hardheaded and just plain stupid?

Man, welcome to Orwellville. Freedom is slavery.

26. I believe Barack is swiftboat-proof. People will not be influenced this time.
The GOP is staying home, what's left of it. Those who need to hate and fear, will. Those who don't, won't.

And everyone is paying $4+ for gas. When they get their first oil heating bill in september or october, they'll realize that enough is enough. They can't afford hate, anymore.
