Impeachment Hearings: Are We Going Through This Exercise To Complete A Cycle?...... |
|
Let me explain: listening to the hearings - I'm hearing many of the speakers say we can't let this happen and we can't risk this ever happening again (i.e., the abuses, lies, etc of *Co).
It seems to me that we are in a cycle - where Congress makes it impossible for a Dem president to do certain things and then when that's questioned - they open things up for a Repug president to do those questionable things (allow them more latitude)- then when those questionable things come into question rightious indignation kicks in and we cycle back to make it hard for the next Dem president to do his job.
It's almost like this is planned and that both the Dems and Repugs in Congress are in on this and in cahoots. This then satisfies the base on both sides as both are able to get away with saying that they did the right thing.
It's almost like a game and we - the American People - are being played for chumps.
The wheels of Congress keep rolling. Hands in the pockets of the American people while getting their own pockets stuffed by the Corporations. And the edge keeps getting pushed forward every second or so administration - until we don't even recognize our government.
Someone used the analogy the other day about starting the cooking of a lobster in cold water and turning up the heat.

I may go have one at lunch.
Seriously, it is a cycle though. But the point is we have to focus on the perpetrator, not the loophole.
The executive authority didn't commit the crimes. It was this brain damaged nincompoop of a president and his cabinet of inexperienced self-promoting ultra evil supporting roles, headed up most prominently by that nasty sour old ongoing heart-attack of a president, AND the SO CALLED 'literalist' (read, fundamentalists) seats on the Supreme Court.
Fortunately, the man who made it all possible is the one in the crosshairs at the moment. A successful impeachment of him would open criminal investigations of his cabinet, and hopefully civil litigation as well.

3. You're onto something. The more I get into politics, |
|
the more I realize our govt has never been about helping it's citizens. It has only been about making a profit and making life easier for those involved with govt and nothing more - from day 1. Everything else is a dog and pony show to keep the masses subdued.

5. Many here suspect that these hearings are a way to let certain congressmen and |
|
the public blow off steam. Very little in the way of concrete action comes from these and if there is a committee vote to begin I imagine it will barely fail. They likely know already where the votes are and aren't and have arranged/rigged them to fail.
