Patrick Carlin, George's brother was on Imus today...

He gave an account of what the family did with George's ashes. Carlin's wishes were that his ashes be spread over a number of different places of his family's choosing. The first place the family went was on the upper east side of Manhattan - an outdoor hangout of George's when he was a kid and also where George smoked his first marijuana joint at age 13.

Patrick, five years older than George, looks a lot like his brother. He talked on the show about George for about 15 minutes. It was quite touching really. There will probably be at least an audio clip of it on the Internet within a day or so, if you want to look for it.

Also, there will be a DVD released of George's final concert soon.

4. His brother is a very funny guy in his own right.
I'm trying to figure out if the camp in New Hampshire he talked about is one that was near a lake a few miles from my house. If I ever run into the dice, I guess I'll know for sure.

5. You saw it?

Yeah, it was really nice hearing his brother talk. They have that same accent.

Didn't know he lived in Woodstock too - that's kind of cool.

6. Yes, I did see it and I just googled Camp Notre Dame.
Apparently, some of George's ashes are in the neighborhood. LOL. That's oddly reassuring.

7. I actually talked to Patrick back in 1984
He had walked into my sister-in-laws office (Shone Productions). She was teasing saying that George Carlin's brother was standing right in front of her and she hands the phone to Patrick and he says "Hi, this is George Carlin's brother. He sounded just like George. He was funnier then fuck, I laughed my ass off for about 10 minutes. It was pretty memorable to me.
