More radio stations dropping the Savage Weiner
Michael Savage's controversial remarks about autistic children have gotten him booted off Cleveland's airwaves.

WHK AM/1420, the only Cleveland-area station carrying Savage's radio talk show, is break ing its contract with Savage's syndicator, Talk Radio Net work, said Mark Jaycox, who manages the Cleveland stations under the Salem Com munications corporate um brella. WHK is owned by Cali fornia-based Sa lem Communi cations.

"This guy's a knucklehead, and I want to get rid of him," Jaycox said.

-----

Jaycox decided to yank Savage after receiving about two dozen calls and e-mails from parents of autistic children, who said they were hurt by the remarks.

“I had one dad almost cry,” Jaycox said.

By day, Coy Barefoot is a radio host.

By night, he's the father of six-year old twins, one of whom is autistic.

"One day," Barefoot told his audience Wednesday on 1070 WINA's 'Charlottesville Right Now' program, " stopped looking at us, he stopped playing and he got very, very quiet."

Barefoot is a part of the same station that, until Wednesday, carried the Michael Savage show; a syndicated program broadcast on more than 300 stations across the country.

-----

WINA Program Director Rick Daniels says station management decided Wednesday to end their affiliation with Savage because he refused to apologize for his comments, instead standing by them.

2. And so begins...
The long, slow, inexhorable decline to eating out of dumpsters for Lil' Mikey Weiner. If you pass him on the street, in the gutter and on fire, do the right thing. Remember: You can go to jail for public urination.

5. It's ok. It'd be worth it
Just to pee on this guy. I'd be willing to pay a fine to pee on him. And if the judge had any knowledge of weiner, he or she would probably let someone off for doing a public service.

6. It will soon be time for a "Want to spend more time with my family" announcement.

That's what they usually say when they don't want it to look like they've been shitcanned.

9. Good. He's a jerk.
I'm a big defender of the first amendment and believe if you don't like it you can turn it off. But this guy has no sense of propriety or shame and has deserved to be fired many times over.

11. Me too--but 1st Amendment doesn't promise public air time!
The 1st Amendment says he has the right to say whatever he wants about autistic children--but it doesn't guarantee that he will be provided with prime air time on the radio to say it!

So, if we wants to stand on a streetcorner and rant, he has every right to. And that's where he belongs, on some deserted streetcorner with a soapbox.

10. Hatred is a disease that consumes ones humanity.
Just look how it happened. He did it to himself. He became so consumed that he lost all touch with reality to the degree that he said things that no human being would say. He had no self control. This may be a great example of the real meaning of hell.
