Is Keef On???
Edited on Sat Jul-26-08 06:57 PM by monmouth
The 4 and 6 yr. old grandchildren of my neighbor were here for a Friday night stay over. They always stop by to see me (I'm also the "go to" person if grandma gets ill). Anyhoo, I have the door open, poke my head out to say hi, the 4 yr. old says "is Keef on?" She could hear KO on my TV, but needless to say I was shocked. The older child saw my surprise and said "we watch him all the time." I'm thrilled at this point and say to the little one, "you like Keith?" "Oh yeah"..then went into her position of right arm up in the air and yelled out "Worst Person In The Woooorrrrrlllllddddd!!!!. Grandmas looking at me like, what's going on?

At this point I'm cracking up, invite them all in and the kids go immediately to sit in front of the TV. The game was to guess who would be WPITW. Either Rush (man with the cigar) or Billo (man who yells a lot)...

This loses so much in translation but Grandma is very cool, originally from Long Island, great Italian woman and thinks she's up on all things cool. Anyway, she's always asking me questions about Obama, etc. and thanks to DU I'm able to inform her.

I'm in the midst of telling her that KO is the only decent news outlet she's going to hear, the elder child said "don't forget Rachel." Finally the commercial is over, she and I are still talking and the two of them look at us with stern faces, "shhh, Keefs on" says the little one. So WPITW was announced, the two of them at the top of their lungs following "Keef" ...By the way, "Keef" did not get good reviews on his WPITW last night, he didn't do wooorrrrlllddddd long enough according to them. Hey, we all have our critics. Apparently their circle know about Countdown and WPITW goes for teachers, bad babysitters and camp counselors who are mean. I tell ya folks, it's an education..LOL.

Is always on, until he turns off automatically and falls over.

5. You forgot about the palm tree!
Check out my web site. The original of the old man (Han Man) playing an erhu is in Keef's house in Greenwich, CT. Click on the image on the Home page, then do it again on the Paintings page.

Great story. Next time we talk, remind me to tell you about it.

I hope all is well. I have been thinking (always fraught with danger, that particular exercise)....

7. Thank you. This is our first site....
and we are pretty pleased with it.

If you click on the What's New? thing, you see a lot more. But I am going to do the next voice-over, myself.

Here is the street the Tiburon Gallery is on (I am the guy in the fedora who keeps showing up in the pictures). The Gallery is the one with the copper-colored doors.

3. That's priceless..........
My friend's 16 year old likes staying here...we get Colbert, his mother doesn't. Of course, the fact that we don't eat much rice helps too. (Long story...for another time)

10. That's great...
from a fellow grandparent.

Olbermann is a must watch in my household. I ofttimes imagine that I've written his material for him...we're usually in agreement.

If I'm not home it gets TiVo(ed).
