2. Miscellaneous commentary
who murdered Hitoshi Igarashi, the book's Japanese translator, and wounded the Italian translator and Norwegian publisher, and burned to death 37 Turkish intellectuals in a 1993 hotel attack in an attempt to kill Aziz Nesin, the Turkish translator. No, the blood is on Rushdie's hands, because he wrote a work of fiction.

7. You left out one obvious option.
"OP is so blinded by fear and hate that s/he has gone off the deep end and ended up on the dark side."

8. The poll question is about enriched uranium.

If a DU member self-attacks (i.e. is both the source and target of one and the same direct attack), then DU members will have no basis for guessing what provoked the attack or for guessing why the attack was posted on DU.

or compared to something else?

For thousands of years people have been exposed to water in rain, puddles, rivers, lakes, oceans, etc. Enriched uranium is a relatively new toy for human beings.

17. So, you're suggesting it's not harmless...
when proper precautions are taken, and it's handled properly?

Interesting.

20. WHEN do you know whether or not a precaution is or was proper?
A piece of software could be designed to provide only one possible error message: "proper precautions were not taken", but just before it displayed the message, it could erase all the files on your C: drive.

10. Worry about the depleted stuff.
not the stuff that can be used in a simple nuclear weapon. So simple the design was never tested before it was used to kill 140,000 people, give or take.

Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 02:36 PM by Boojatta
One more and there'd be a level of support that's enough to put a thread on the Greatest Page.

Edited to add: also, the "No" vote count is artificially inflated because I voted "No." It is unthinkable that under any circumstances the author of a thread could recommend it.
